Beholding Jesus Changes Us From Glory to Glory
The goal of seeing Jesus is not that we become impressive students of revelation. It is that His glory reshapes us into people who increasingly bear His likeness.

God's Spirit removes the veil, reveals the glory of Christ, and transforms those who behold Him into His image.

The veil is taken away in Christ
In 2 Corinthians 3, Paul describes a veil that remains until the heart turns to the Lord. The barrier is not overcome by human brilliance. “The vail is done away in Christ.”
This is why Christian transformation remains centered on Jesus. Rules can restrain behavior, pressure can produce conformity, and information can shape vocabulary, but only God's Spirit can unveil the heart to see the glory of the Lord.

Freedom has a face
Paul's declaration that “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” belongs inside this movement of turning, unveiling, beholding, and transformation. Freedom is not independence from Jesus; it is release from everything that keeps us from seeing and reflecting Him.
The Spirit of the Lord frees us from condemnation, hardness, self-protection, and the futile effort to manufacture righteousness. God turns our attention toward Christ and makes obedience the fruit of a changed heart.

We become like what we behold
To behold Christ is to look steadily toward Him in the witness of Scripture, with the help of God's Spirit. It is attention joined with faith, worship, and surrender. The aim is not imagination detached from truth, but communion grounded in what God has revealed.
As Christ's glory fills the field of vision, competing images lose authority. Success, fear, offense, appetite, and approval no longer tell us who we must become. The Spirit of Christ forms His character in His people from glory to glory.

Transformed people become witnesses
The next chapter returns to light shining in darkness and the glory of God known in the face of Jesus Christ. Those who behold do not preach themselves; they proclaim Christ Jesus the Lord.
Genuine revelation produces a recognizable life: humility instead of self-exaltation, love instead of contempt, courage instead of fear, holiness instead of compromise, and witness that directs attention back to Jesus.
